Thanks for the pictures I can get behind that if street tires weren't so expensive in 285/35-18's..... i think i am going to try so R6's next instead of A6's and see just how much better they hold up. i've heard the Kuhmo's and Nitto's last a lot longer on our concrete too.

The Hankook R-comp is supposed to be similar to the R6 but cheaper, thats another option.

Great pictures guys! I love the action shots.
Forget the R6. That is a road course compound. It needs heat to really work and they never really approach the A6 in total grip even when warmed up. You are going to be disappointed. V710 are the next option and should have better life (wear and grip life). These tires have always been great to me. Hankook are another consideration. They are considerably cheaper and last longer. I have only tried the C70 compound, and didn't like it but it was a 3 year old tire and it was on clearance. Their C91 compound is their stickiest, but their life might be short. I hear the C71 is the closest to the A6 when fresh. Just don't expect the grip to remain the same as you heat cycle them. The grip will fall well before they wear out. As a fall back, Nitto NT-01 are good tires too with long life and their grip remains close from new to used, but they do give up ultimate grip to the above tires.

thanks jose. i guess i'll start looking at the 710's or hankooks. the nt-01's have a similar treadwear to my RS3's so i'm wondering how much better they would be. then again, they are right at the same price now (DAMN YOU HANKOOK!)

You do realize Jesse that the guy in front and behind you both run Hankook C71 in a front wheel drive stock class.

yeah i do. they don't make a c71 compound in the size i need though (according to tire rack) they make a C91 which i think will be too soft and a C51 which i'm not sure about... i would also like to have larger than 275's on the car which they do not make either.
I may do like Jeff suggested and start starving myself so i enjoy the benefits of lighter weight and better tires!!!
