2006 BMW 330i E90
Only modification is a cai. I assume that puts me into a different class that stock. Since it real gives me no added performance, would I be better off switching back to the stock intake to run?

Since it real gives me no added performance, would I be better off switching back to the stock intake to run? The cold air intake moves the car into the Street Touring Category. If I am understanding the rule book correctly the E90 is in the Street Touring Class U (STU).

I have a 1995 240sx: the engine is stock beside a CAI. it does have a lightened flywheel and stage two exedy clutch with an aluminum radiator and electric fans. It has megan racing adjustable coilovers front tension rods and rear upper camber arms, with rear aluminum body bushings. It also has 18 inch wheels with 225f and 245r tires. I plan on putting 17 inch wheels with 225 tires on all four corners with a header and full exaust. ( will try to stay EPA legal). and a factory visous type lsd.
Thanks in advance, I went to my first autocross last sunday 6-13-10 and had a blast. look forward to doing it again next month.

If I remember correctly the aluminum radiator and aluminum body bushings put you into the Street Modified Category. The radiator because it is lighter than factory & the bushings because they contain more metal than factory.

The cam is going to put you in street modified (SM) for sure . street prepared must run stock cams. from the 2010 rulebook for street prepared.... the good news is, you are pretty much free to mod away. the bad news is the PAX adjustment is gonna kill you. www.scca.org/documents/Solo_Rules/2010_scca_solo_rules.pdf type in 105 in the page#'s and start dreaming of big turbos, coil overs and 285mm wide hoosier A6's

I concur with Jesse... SMF to be specific since you are FWD so the PAX is not quite as bad

The only problem with that record is you came in last place a lot too It sounds like your in Street Modified, or Street Modified Front. Your choice. See you at the track.

His-2011 Genesis Coupe 3.6 R-spec (has the factory camber bolts, OEM Front strut brace, and KnN panel intake filter) Hers-2010 Lancer Evolution GSR (HKS panel intake filter, and OEM front strut brace) Ours-2003 Impreza WRX (EJ257 Engine swap, RA 5-spd tranny swap, catless exhaust full, larger turbo, CAI, STI TMIC, VTA BOV, BC BR series Coils, FHI 4-pot/2-pot Brakes, ECU Tune, larger radiator, custom fuel system, TGV deletes, CF Hood, and bracing all over the place... and turn in concepts bushings ALK endlinks.) New to the area just got stationed in Fort Benning, GA but live in the Fort Mitchell area. AutoX in the PanAM region 81 I think it was while stationed at Ft. Bliss. Haven't been back to an event in a few years and would like to get back together with a group of like minded enthusiasts again

since the strut braces came stock on the cars they are allowed. camber bolts are allowed and filters are allowed
Genesis- F-stock (FS) evo- B-stock (BS)
Engine swap/turbo swap moves this into SM WRX- Street Modified (SM)
Hope to see you both in february!

Haven't been back to an event in a few years and would like to get back together with a group of like minded enthusiasts again Genesis: With the K&N you mean a drop in filter right? That is OK for the Stock Category. The camber bolts are not - These make the car Street Prepared Category, Class E (ESP) or Street Touring Category, Class X (STX) Strut brace (see below as the same applies) 2010 Lancer Evolution GSR: Again drop in filter is ok for Stock. Did the car come with the strut brace installed at the factory? (dealer installed is not ok for Stock) If not and it is from a different model or option package then it bumps you into Street Prepared, B (BSP), or Street Touring, U (STU). 2003 Impreza WRX: What do you mean by "bracing"? If it is extra welding, pretty much of any sort then it is in the Prepared Category, X (XP). Does this car have a full interior? I don't know what a TGV delete is. So....? Turn in concepts bushings ALK endlinks - Do these modify where the suspension pickup points are? If so again XP if not then they are SM legal. I hope the classing confusion doesn't stop you from coming out, because it sounds like you have some nice cars.

The strut bracing on both the lancer and genesis are factory installed. Not dealer installed. The panel air filter replacements go in the stock air box and have similar dimensions to the paper factory units. I am disappointed i guess to learn that the set of the oem provided amber bolts will elevate the genesis in class.
As for the wrx there is no welding save for the hole on the passenger floor board i had to cover due to some amateur offroading :\. There is a full interior. The tgv mod deleted the tumbler valves between the intake manifold and the head. And all of my suspension mods utilize the factory pickup points.
Thank you all for your input and i too look forward to seeing everybody this February.
