Nice videos, I tried drag racing my car before, it's hard to get a good launch.

Nice videos. Drag racing can be a lot of fun. For a few years, I spent a lot of time doing test and tunes at a lot of different tracks. I didn't get too wrapped up into it though as I never went to some of the extremes I saw from the other drivers. It was cool going because every once in a while you see some really unique and cool rides.
What kind of times does the Cobra run? It looks like it can move.

It's not super fast but 8.4 @85 in the 1/8th and 13.1 @105 in the quarter. I can hold my own in just about any race, I've beatin cars that i know could own me but that's cuz I think I ran my mouth a little and intimated the other driver. With the new cars coming out now though I wanna bump up the power since stock in 2011 the gt will have like 418hp and with the new camaros I can't be left behind lol. but with autocross I don't wanna go stupid power like i wanted before so maybe a build bottom and a little boost should put me at around 5 at the wheels which isn't to bad then maybe some gutting and a cage

Yeah, more power is great and power at the bottom end is even better. Since your car has so many suspension mods you should be able to put a lot of power down. Does it seem like it grips pretty well out of the corners?

Those are really good times. I know I have struggled to get good times out of my GT. I was finally able to get a best of 8.2@84 in the 1/8th and 13.0@108 in the 1/4. You are absolutely right about all these modern cars and the power they have. I was struggling to keep up with several modern cars on the straights of Road Atlanta. I hope this year to get the new trickflow 2v heads for a 50hp boost, and it will allow me to remain NA. This should take me up to C5 Z06 power levels, and help level the playing field. I will be curious to see who swaps in the new 2011 engine into an SN95 as well. That looks like a potent engine.

yeah it does, but i like the 4.6l better for some reason...it's more expensive to mod but I think it's stronger, I mean look at a 03 cobra stock with a hellion TT kit for $7500 bucks you can have 1k rwhp and be done. My goal before was 800rwhp but I'm thinking now about 500 I'd be happy, I only have 302 rwhp right now and when I raced a c6 vette on the street his rear bumper never left my front bumper so it was a close race and we went from 0-120...I figure 500rwhp should drop me in the 11's which will be plenty for me since i'm getting more in to corners then straights. I'm guessing it's my suspention but cars that beat me at the track seem to not be able to on the streets and the only thing I can guess is that it's because i'm more consistant and when they lose the vht on the track they can't do as good.
