Registration is now open for AL and TVR regions' Spring Track Event April 9-10 at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway! This event includes Time Trial competition and our Time Trial School which can take you from a Novice Permit to a full SCCA Time Trial License in one weekend.
It also includes Track Time (PDX) with in-car and classroom instruction provided at no additional cost. Most street cars are eligible to run in our PDX run groups with no additional modifications, you just need a helmet rated SA2000 or M2000 or better (so, autocrossers, you probably already have everything you need!). Convertible vehicles operating with a factory roll over protection system are allowable. Other convertibles must have either a factory hardtop OR a 4 point roll bar. If a roll bar is used, it must meet the roll bar requirements found in the Time Trials Rules. Otherwise, we run our PDX like any other track day...
So, here's what makes this event the best kept secret in Track Days: By Sunday afternoon all the guys competing in our Time Trial groups have decided they can't improve their times , they're worn out or need to get home to feed their dog.... who knows! But they all pack up and head home and that means you get all the track time you can handle!
