Thank you for the thank you, but I wasn't looking for thanks. I'm very surprised there haven't been a ton of questions about the results.

they looked great to me. looks like a lot of time went into them. now i need to work on some cornering speed to be happier with my results.... upon further review, what is this "trophy" listed in the class results? ?

Those with a "T" would get a trophy, if we gave out trophies according to SCCA trophing standards. LOL We don't give out trophies so the T is there just for bragging rights, I guess. It only really applies to those people who had competition. For example CSP wouldn't get a trophy because there was only one car. In C Stock there would be one trophy awarded.
Does that make sense?

so my question is are or can we keep year long stats, to see how we progress?that way we can do a end of year thing with class champions or something.

So you are saying you want some sort of points race? With so few competitors the only way to do it would be via pax results. Then you would also have to separate out race tires vs. street tires because they make such a huge difference. Once you do that you can't include the ST category in the street tire pax because their pax is based on street tires (think about it). The club would have to take a stronger stance on correct classing (you wouldn't want me claiming I drive an HS car now would you?) Once this is taken care of you have to define the rules for awarding points; Like you must be a SCCA member, you must participate in 80% of a years events, do you allow class jumping or not, and you have to agree on the point system. Does first place earn 10 points, 20 points, or 100 points and all other competitors points are based on their time (ex: 2nd place's time was 97% of 1st place so 2nd place gets 97 points. 10th place's time was 66% of 1st places time so 10th place gets 66 points.), etc. The club would have to change its stance on awarding trophies, too. Saying all that above... I'm all for a points race

I agree with primaris. I think maybe work on setting up for a points race and once we get it to that point, look to start it. One problem we have is some people seemed to really resist putting numbers and class on their car claiming they had the only X car of Y color, so they didn't need it. And even when I convinced them to do so all they did was throw a number on it even though they were asked to do number and class....
until we can work this out, I for-see setting up a points system very difficult.

Easy enough for those guys just coming out for fun and don't take anything serious, all you have to do is ask when registering whether they are entering into championship or fun. Championship would run first until the numbers supported a different split. Pax times seem good with a split for different tires. We can come up with the rules to make it happen. Competition is fun and i think it will pull more of the guys who care up to classing and numbers standards because they want to compete. At least for the regulars it will give just a little more incentive to show up every event. It can be whatever we want, since we are the ones who want it.

Has anyone noticed the results are also posted on the main site? No comments? I noticed now and that's awesome! I now that's tedious so much thanks. On some of the rankings there is an "m" next to the ranking-what does this mean?

there are so few of us that go out that arent using street tires i'm not sure that would be much of an issue. if some one wanted to come out and dominate on R-compounds its their wallet.... A wiregrass championship would be fun as long as we can keep the same general atmosphere as we have now. as a whole we help people learn the courses, get and give rides with others without thinking twice and don't generally complain at all.
i'd hate to see someone get mad because they take the championship a little too seriously... I've seen it happen at the drag strip a lot. if the powers that be ever decide to do this they should institute a "no whining rule"
Also, if someone wants to do this so badly it wouldn't be hard to set up a spreadsheet in excel and keep us posted on the rules they come up with. post the results on here after the PAX times are posted... i don't see a reason everyone who runs couldn't be included for the year if set up this way....
