THe only issue is if everyone is on street tires and you dont separate it, the ST classes have a HUGE pax advantage because their PAX assumes street tires while everyone elses assumes R-comps...
Plus with how I've been driving lately do you really wanna give me more of an advantage by using a system that favors ST classes.
THere is another option. Rick Ruth (the guy who does the PAX factors every year) suggests multiplying PAX factors by .975 for people who use Street tires in an R-comp class... We could use that if we wanted... again Excel can take care of that.

A championship based on pax would be cool but it would take very little to misclass a car. A better tech would be needed to keep Jeff honest and out of HS. Not to mention it would be easier to undo mods and go back to a stock class especially if you didn't have all available mode for a class like street prepaired because your radiator blew and you got an aluminum one and that moved you up from stock.

Actually its not as hard as you think... Tech is strictly for safety according to the rule book. The official way of enforcing classes is competitors protesting. Basically if you see that someone has an illegal mod and think its giving them an advantage you protest it, at which point the organizers look at it and if it is in fact illegal, then the person is disqualified. And the beauty at the local level is that the region can choose to make exceptions. FOr example, if no one has a problem with an aluminum radiator in HS, then he can run it all he wants.

I apologize for cheating last weekend, but I ripped my broken antenna mast out and taped the hole shut to keep the rain out...
