I was thinking it would get you going on the Fiero and back to normal driving duties. Speaking of the Fiero. I picked up a battery for it and fired it up. No clutch How does a clutch break just sitting there? The pedal just goes straight to the floor.

It feels hydraulic. Unless the shift fork broke. I have not tried bleeding it. From what I understand bleeding this system is a big PITA.

If its hydraulic and it sat awhile the seals in the slave cylinder may be gone. This is why I was putting in a tranny at 6am the morning of the last autocross. If posible or available I got a remote bleeded setup so it can be bleed without crawling under the car.

i also put a remote bleeder on mine. hopefully your's is a push or pull system and doesn't have a throw out bearing/slave cylinder made into one unit like mine and joey's. if its a push or pull type the slave usually can be changed without dropping the trans. not so with my type...

It's an external slave cylinder. I'm going to order both the master and slave. If one is gone the other can't be far behind. Not a bad run, 24 years.

If you consider it's an 80s GM car, that's amazing.

From what I've read online they are notoriously hard to bleed. Make sure you bench bleed the master and if you can afford it one of those pressurized bleeding apparatus would prob do wonders

Well I ordered up a master, slave, and a one way check valve bleeder. They should be here sometime next week and we'll see how it goes.

How does a clutch break just sitting there? The pedal just goes straight to the floor. Dry rot ...or some other inevitable effect of the hoses getting old. There, my two cents has been given. ;D I'm planning on coming to the Feb 12th event. You wanna take turns with my car again? You don't even have to promise not to beat me.
